How to use M SMS keyboard in Other Applications(like Email)

We have been receiving suggestions to add a Malayalam keyboard to iphone, like emoji keyboard. Unfortunately, We are unable to do so due to technical restrictions in Iphone OS. But we will show you an indirect way to use our Malayalam keyboard in other applications. It may not be a very user friendly idea,  but meant for users who really want to use Malayalam in other applications.

Step1: Open "M SMS" and type your content

Step2: Tap on

(Number button)

Step3: Tap on content inside the text view

Step4: Tap on "Select All"

Step5: Tap on "Copy"

Step6: Open your target application(Eg: Email) and paste content.

  4. Dear Jose,

First, I would like to appreciate your effort in creating this wonderful application. I have recently purchased this and feel great to type in my language.
But I find these two major defects. Could you please have a look on it and rectify if possible.
    1. SMSing work only with iphone to iphone. Junk characters when send to other mobile phones. This wasn't clearly given under app description.

    2. No option to modify typed malayalam sms as in normal iphone message.

  5. Hi Vimal,

Thanks for your feedback. We would like to clarify your concerns.

    1. SMSs sent from this application can be displayed on non-iphones as long as they support Malayalam unicode. This is same as what we claim in App store and we have already tested it on a few Nokia phones, sold in Kerala. Interestingly, some of the Nokia phones comes with built in key mapping to type Malayalam. Unfortunately, current versions of Windows Mobile and Android does not support Malayalam unicode.

    2. We made a mistake by omitting the 'Return Key' from the keypad. We will rectify this error through an update. Apples current API does not support any methods to capture the cursor position, so it is impossible to insert malayalam in between other letters. If you are typing in English, this functionality is already enabled.
